How to become a pilot

For those of you just starting out on the path to pilot training we hope the following will give you a clear understanding of the steps you need to follow to achieve your ambition with flight school Nikita Aviation.

PPL licence

In order to fly independently on a plane you must have reached 17 years of age and previous perform several actions:

• To enroll up for the PPL training (fill out the application for training - which you can download HERE; for those under 18 years parental consent is required * - you can download form HERE)


• To make a medical examination. The network of aviation medical examiners consists of 2 Aeromedical Centre (AeMCs) and 7 Aeromedical Examiners (AMEs). The authorized Aeromedical Centres (AeMCs) are the:

• To complete the theoretical part of the training PPL (4 weeks - 147 hours)


• To complete the flight training with flight instructor

After the theoretical part of training, practical part is what comes next. After 46 hours of flying and taking the exams, you get the private pilot license (PPL license). This means that you have gained a sports license (Private Pilot Licence), you can fly plane independent and you can transport other people, but you can not deal with commercial flying - you can not charge for flight services from other people.
